Fashion designer with greatness, a man of many talents and skilled to perfection in the world of fashion. Virgil Abloh's first company was called Pyrex Vision in 2012 and the following year he founded his label Off-White in 2013. Abloh once had an internship at Fendi in 2009, Time Magazine named him as one of the most influential people in the world in 2018, and was well known around the world. Abloh was inspired by his mother who was a seamstress which is how he learned how to sew as a young teen. Both Abloh's parents are Ghanaian immigrants who came to live in Illinois.
Abloh earned his Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a Masters in Architecture. Abloh's travels in his career have launched his stores in Tokyo, Japan, London and Paris, ranking him beyond Gucci. Abloh's fashion has also geared him in the direction of handbags, Furniture prints. He made his debut in 2019 at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago and many other Museums.
Music was an interest to Abloh since his years in High School and College, when he DJ'd at house parties which landed him later on to perform international shows at festivals. Philanthropy was a passion for him to fund scholarships for inspiring fashion designer students. Abloh's Illinois roots inspired him to be a major influence for giving back to communities throughout Chicago.
Abloh lived in Chicago with his wife and two Children. Cancer may have taken him from us at the age of only 41 in the flesh but his spirit and his fashion will carry on to live with us forever... We love you Virgil Abloh... Rest Forever in peace...
